Obsessed site wont let me post anything bigger than 10mb or something
>flood
I had figured 10mb was a decent amount, but I'm open to talking about raising it. what are you trying to upload/how big is it?
>>85
a video
>>85
make the limit 25mb or something 10mb is too cucked because you cant post 1080p videos
>>91
okay, I've raised it to 25MB. don't make me regret it, okay? (´›ω・`)b
>cucked
in exchange, I'd prefer if you didn't bring in this particular variety of slang (^^;)
>>92
thanks
Cool grown bearded men can use av1 to compress a 1 minute long anime scene in 5mb. Keep seething kids, ffmpeg is too complex for you.
H.265 matroska ogg with rescale to 240p.

sorry (^^;)
I'm trying to play it safe with regards to our bandwidth and storage needs. right now the site doesn't use much, but that could change quickly with new users, or if people simply start using the site differently, especially since the bump limit is now 500 instead of 250

is it hard to add more supported file types to jschan? like flac and opus (well maybe just opus because flac files would probably all be too large anyway)
>>404
hm, flac and opus (as a .ogg file) should both already be supported on marzichan :^v
https://marzichan.org/faq.html#filetypes
do you have a file you were trying to upload that didn't work?
>>405
yes, tried uploading an opus file earlier and got an error saying something like mime type audio/opus invalid
must be because it is .opus instead of .ogg
>>406
>>407
oh, an actual .opus file? my bad, I never see those in use so I just assumed it was .ogg with an opus stream (^^;)
yeah, I think it should be easy to support it. when I have a moment later today I'll give it a go. thanks for the feedback!
>>408
oops, didn't mean to use no-bump there.
could you consider 30mb limit? maybe too far out of the cards?
also did u enable other filetypes yet? it's ok if u dint
>>440
30mb would be pretty high, yeah - what is it that you're trying to post?
tools like handbrake can make it pretty easy to compress audio or videos that are too large

>>441
gah, sorry to leave you hanging there! I actually did mess around with it later that day (think I was running into some weird issue since the handling for .ogg is already deceptively complex) and never quite finished the job. I didn't know it when I wrote my original reply, but if my understanding is correct, .opus is really just a filename-level distinction - it's just an .ogg file, and so if you rename it to .ogg, it should upload fine, I believe. that said, even though the extension hasn't taken off, it is the officially preferred extension for .ogg files containing only an opus stream, so we should support it. I'll try and make time to fix it soon, but until then, you could try changing the extention and uploading it, if that's acceptable!

>>443
well maybe not 30mb but meh. maybe... 20? also handbrake doesn't accept my audio files
>>444
huh, sorry if my recommendation didn't work out. I haven't actually used handbrake in a decade or so - these days I just use ffmpeg directly, which is a great option if you're comfortable with command-line tools. if not, it looks like people say qwinff is another decent ffmpeg frontend with a focus on converting, so maybe that could work? sorry you've been having trouble! (^^;)

I converted the files you linked - with ffmpeg it can be as simple as
ffmpeg -i mysong.flac mysong.ogg
to go from flac to ogg.
here they are, same order as your links:
https://files.catbox.moe/mbki9q.ogg
https://files.catbox.moe/yiehqs.ogg
https://files.catbox.moe/nbte1o.ogg

I'll take note of your request if I end up reconsidering the upload limit, but keeping it somewhat conservative helps reduce the risk of our bandwidth or storage needs going up, and I'd hate to have to lower it later or something like that.
maybe I'll do a little research into finding a simple tool that I can point people towards with confidence, since conversion really shouldn't be as confusing or annoying as it is for the average poster.
>>445
now i feel bad. wasn't trying to make you convert files. just sharing some music that's too big to upload here.
>>446
oh, don't worry! it was really no trouble, it only took a couple seconds for each song
