Happy 2nd Birthday, Marzichan!
As of today, Marzichan has been around for two whole years!
Marzichan was made on a total whim, with zero expectations. Up until around 9 months ago, it had gotten hardly any use - just a couple hundred posts, almost all of them made by me. It could've just as easily stayed that way, eventually closing when it inevitably breaks and I don't bother to fix it. The fact that it now has a handful of regular users and thousands of posts from people who discovered the site organically is a truly wonderful surprise.
That's why I want to extend a sincere thanks to everyone who has posted on Marzichan, helping to water the little seed that I planted and forgot for a time. Marzichan is still a very humble little thing, only just recently passing 5k posts, but seeing people have fun with it has brought me many smiles, new friends, and an inspiration to improve on what I made two years ago.

Site Overhaul
I've spent the last three months or so working on a complete overhaul of Marzichan, ready just in time for this occasion!
And of course, that included writing a script that would handle migrating all of the posts and files. It's not like I could just leave your lovely posts behind!
The new Marzichan is based on jschan, a more modern starting point than vichan. I've been careful to try and preserve the simplicity and charm of the old site while polishing up the rough spots and adding some new features. I really hope you all like it.
Some highlights you can enjoy on the new site:
- A big, stylish upgrade to the UI across the board!
- A vastly improved oekaki feature, now with replay!
- The long-requested Marzichan dark theme, "Midnight Moon"!
- A greatly improved experience on mobile devices!
- Overhauled post formatting, now including fortunes!
- Support for more filetypes, with better embedding!
- A site-wide thread watcher!
- Faster, more sophisticated automatic refreshing!
- Desktop notifications for posts!
- Embedding for all youtube links!
- No more restricted characters when posting!
- More settings to customize your experience!

I'm quite pleased with how it's turned out. But I couldn't have done it without all of you!
